Cheap iPhone 3GS

So last year Apple stunned the mobile phone market and tech world by extension with the release of what can now be regarded as its flag ship product, pushing the Mac and the iPod into a corner. This year, the company releases what is now touted to be the biggest and most anticipated release of a piece of technology. I am talking about the second generation mobile phone, the Apple iPhone 2.0 with 3G. With a price tag expected to be well over $300 and everyone eager to get their hands on this 2nd generation marvel, the question now becomes where and when will we find a cheap iPhone 3G or 2.0?

The product was released this year, and lines are expected to be long, and prices are expected to remain high right into mid next year. The price is not expected to drop below $300.00. But just as last year, after a few weeks there were unlocked versions of the product on the market. Therefore, one can expect cheap 3G iPhones to be available very soon. What is even better is that they will not only be cheap, but they will be unlocked and untied from ATT voice and data plan activation requirements. So if having an unlocked version is something you are into, then just wait a few weeks to get yours.

So what's new with this new version and what should we expect from the product? Well, the first thing we will notice is that the product will basically be the same size as its predecessor, the first generation model. Support for GPS and EDGE Network Technology are some of the connectivity goodies.

One of the big things to expect when you get your cheap iPhone 3g, or 2.0 if your rather, the battery will not be removable. This was a big setback of the first generation, and still apple in its infinite wisdom did nothing about making the battery removal in this new model. Additionally, the phone will be a little thicker, the head phone jack will be flushed with the rest of the phone. Screen resolution, well that will be same size as the firsts.

Ok, so with all things nearly the same, what is the big fan fair about? What exactly is in this new version that will justify all this media anticipation and fleshing out another $300-400 to get one? Well, in my opinion, the new apple offering has better performance and enhanced features and better compatibility with third party software.

I say, if you have the funds, go out and get the new model. If you don't have that kind of money then wait a few more weeks when they become unlocked and available. By then, you should be able to get your hands on a cheap iPhone 3g or 2.0 if you rather.
